Frankreich: 3 neue Projekte zur CO2-Abtrennung und –Speicherung

Im Rahmen des 2008 gestarteten Projektaufrufes der Französischen
Organisation für Umwelt- und Energiewirtschaft (ADEME) werden nun insgesamt 4
Projekte gefördert. Nachdem man sich 2009 bereits für ein erstes Projekt
(Pil-Ansu, von Alstom, EdF, GdF-Suez und Armines) entschieden hatte, wurden
kürzlich drei neue Projekte ausgewählt, um eine Unterstützung aus dem Fonds zur
Finanzierung von Demonstrationsanlagen der ADEME zu erhalten. Um bis 2025 über
anwendbare Technologien zur CO2-Abtrennung und –Speicherung zu verfügen, werden
die Projekte mit insgesamt 45 Millionen Euro über 6 bis 8 Jahre gefördert.

Das Projekt "France Nord" für die Speicherung und den Transport
von CO2 wird unter der Leitung von Total und in Kooperation mit mehreren
französischen und europäischen Unternehmen und Forschungseinrichtungen durchgeführt.
Ziel ist es, die Speicherkapazität der salzigen Aquifere (poröse
Gesteinsschichten) für industrielle CO2-Emissionen kleinmaßstäblich im Norden
Frankreichs zu testen. Nach zwei Jahren sollen die Projektträger in der Lage
sein, nach Rücksprache mit den Behörden und der lokalen Bevölkerung, einen
Standort für den Bau des Pilotprojekts vorzuschlagen. Die Investitionen
belaufen sich auf 54 Millionen Euro, von denen die ADEME 40 % übernimmt.

"ULCOS" (Ultra-Low CO2 Steelmaking), ein europäisches Konsortium
für Forschung und Entwicklung, das sich der Verringerung prozessbedingter
CO2–Emissionen bei der Stahlerzeugung widmet, plant ein Projekt für die
Abtrennung, den Transport und die Speicherung von CO2 in der Region Lorraine.
Es wird beim Unternehmen ArcelorMittal (Florange) angesiedelt und soll das
Prinzip der CO2-Abscheidung und der Wiederverwertung von Hochofengas
bestätigen.

Das Projekt für eine Pilotanlage zur CO2-Abtrennung im Wärmekraftwerk in Le
Havre, das von EDF und Alstom in Kooperation mit Veolia Environnement (C2A2)
durchgeführt wird, nutzt die Technologie der "Abscheidung nach Verbrennung
auf der Grundlage von Aminen". Sie wird direkt an dem CO2 getestet, das
während des Verbrennungsvorganges der Kohle im Wärmekraftwerk freigesetzt wird.
