Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow
Was Ubi Soft nunmehr offiziell bekannt gibt, ist nicht wirklich eine Überraschung: Super-Spion Sam Fisher geht erneut auf Gauner-Jagd. Die Fortsetzung des erfolgreichen Schleich-Shooters trägt den Namen "Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow" und soll bereits im ersten Quartal des kommenden Jahres für verschiedene Plattformen veröffentlicht werden. Erster Stealth-Shooter mit Online-Funktion "Pandora Tomorrow" wird mehr von dem Singleplayer-Spielgefühl mit sich bringen, das schon den Vorgänger zu einem der erfolgreichsten Spiele des letzten Jahres machte. Neue Action-Szenen und die Orientierung in Richtung Kinofilm sollen zusammen mit noch realistischeren Umgebungen zu überzeugen wissen. Zudem wird "Pandora Tomorrow" als erstes Schleich-Spiel überhaupt Online-Funktionalität bieten, in der mehrere Spieler gleichzeitig Missionen bewältigen können. Über deren genauen Ablauf ist bislang jedoch noch nichts bekannt.

We've seen it in action - but only on PS2...
At last week's Camp EA event, we played EA's latest WWII-themed shooter, and amidst the phalanxes of soldiers trying to bayonet us, the bridge-over-river-Kwai location, and uh, the elephants, we also had a quick glimpse of the online game. For those who care about such things, the Network is client-based, which means that in an eight-player game, one player's PS2 will host the game while the other seven are clients. There's a maximum limit of eight players per game, and modes include Death Match, Team Death Match and Capture The Flag.
There's going to be 10 maps available from the beginning, and the title will support voice chat. We played the game only very quickly, and against players who were more interested in exploring the lush, jungle style environment than in sending every other player to their death in a hail of lead, but even so the four player match held up well.
The game's online mode is exclusive to the PS2 version. We'll be posting an interview with the guys being MOH: Rising Sun very soon .
