Ritch remains in the Cardiac Unit of WakeMed Hospital, expert doctors
are continuing to monitor his condition, the goal being to strengthen
his heart and address his breathing difficulties in order for him to
sustain the critically needed kidney transplant. His team of doctors
are tops in their fields, progress is slow but hopeful. Cards are much
appreciated during this very difficult, life-changing
and very stressful situation.

UPDATE ON RITCH BRINKLEY (WILLIAM)

From his Helper:

Ritch is still very weak, especially after dialysis. He is working a
bit on regaining strength. He is not having breathing problems anymore,
still, things are coming along and we still have hopes of a kidney
transplant although he's been put on the inactive list for now. Hope
that can change soon. The wound from the operation is healing nicely.
He misses his little dog as he is gone 3x week for dialysis. Thanks to
all for sending good thoughts and prayers.

Und wer möchte kann hier nochmal eine Kerze anzünden oder natürlich auch eine echte zu Hause auf dem Tisch.

Thanks to so many of you for writing so many notes. Ritch has made it
through his operation for fluttering heart and is now out of the
hospital. But he is very weak from 3 weeks in ICU and from dialysis
which he is now on, mostly for his heart. There have been some very
difficult days full of crisis that I won't go into, but know that your
letters help us all get through them and continue to hope for the best
possible outcome. THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

We just received news that Ritch Brinkley (William) has passed away. He
was in exceedingly poor health for some time now, but we always hoped
for a miracle. It was not to be. Those who met Ritch over the years knew him as a jovial guy, a terrific
storyteller, and an amazing font of knowledge about books, the theater,
movies, and life in general. This is a sad day.
