Misophonie - im Deutschen auch manchmal "Selektive Geräuschintoleranz" - bezeichnet einen Zustand, bei dem Menschen auf bestimmte Alltagsgeräusche wütend werden oder sich davon stark gestört fühlen. Beispiele können Essgeräusche, Gähnen oder Räuspern sein.
Dabei handelt es sich um keine offiziell anerkannte psychische (oder neurologische) Störung. In der Forschung ist nicht umstritten, dass es Leute mit diesen Problemen gibt. Wohl aber, was die Ursache dafür ist.
