David Gray (* 13. Juni 1968 in Manchester) wuchs in Wales auf, studierte in Liverpool und spielte dort zunächst in Punkbands. Schließlich zog er nach London und veröffentlichte 1992 sein Debüt, die Single Birds Without Wings. Kurz darauf folgte sein erstes Album A Century Ends (1993). Well, now you'll be excited to know that he's back with another studio update and in this installment he takes us behind the scenes for the making of Jackdaw. Previously a track that was cut from the record a dynamic string arrangement has given the song new life and has David excited about the new album as we're sure you will be too.

Schade, dass Jackdraw - wohl w/ Plattenfirmensuche - immer noch in der Pipe hängt. Gerade die letzten beiden Alben- white ladder mag ich gar nicht sooo gern - sind absolute Sahnestücke...

Ja, ist aber so. Er hat Jackdraw wohl absichtlich "vertragsfrei" produziert, damit ihm niemand reinreden kann. Auf seiner myspace site steht bei Plattenfirma "unknown major". Ich denke mal, ist nur ´ne Frage der Zeit, weil soooo schlecht verkauft er ja nu nicht, dass es sich für die Plattenfirmen nicht lohnt, ihn unter Vertrag zu nehmen. Irgendwo hab ich was von Sepember als ca-VÖ-Datum gelesen, aber frag mich nicht, wo....
