Our second record, "Cast Of Thousands" was also very successful and we played our biggest ever UK gig at Brixton Academy on the tour for that record. And their third "leaders of the free world" , released 2006 continued the critical praise for Elbow.

Wie vor wenigen Tagen berichtet, haben Elbow ihr viertes Album fertiggestellt & dem NME von Veränderungen in ihrem persönlichen Umfeld erzählt.
Auch musikalisch gibt es jedoch etwas zu berichten:
So ist Guy Garvey der Meinung der Meinung, dass das neue Material das bis dato düsterste der Band sein werde.
"the beginning of last year was quite difficult in terms of personal stuff for a few of us. so yeah, it's quite a mixed bag.
it's certainly got the darkest stuff that we've done. it's of its time."
Dazu beigetragen hat wohl auch die intensive Zusammenarbeit der Bandmitglieder:
"i'd say if leaders [...] was raising a clenched fist, this is a conspiratorial back room. it feels very much we've done it just the five of us.
[...] there's been nobody else in the room, so it's a dark record from a dark corner of our minds. it feels like there's a strange alchemy going on."
