Yipiee!

Yipiee!

Just want to mention that this is my 451st article and I´m a conductor now (like in real life! ) I guess Meg, you´ll soon join me!?

Re: Yipiee!

soon soon soon!

I so want to be a conductor, our band director is offering us lessons for marks so I might take it up...

Re: Yipiee!

Being a conductor is something great - it´s a real amazing feeling when you´re  standing on the stage in front of a big orchestra und you are the "boss". But it´s also thrilling because you have a big responsibility!

I'M A CONDUCTOR NOW!!!

Re: Yipiee!

Congratulation! With which band/ensemble/orchestra would you want to do rehearsals??

Re: Yipiee!

ANYTHING!  I love conducting!  To be honest though, I'd like to conduct my own orchestra, the Winnipeg Youth Symphony Orchestra since I know of all the songs that we play, and cues are easy...  I don't know... how about you?

Re: Yipiee!

Hehe - I have my own orchestra....    Of course I love conducting, otherwise I wouldn´t do it!

Re: Yipiee!

YOU HAVE YOUR OWN ORCHESTRA?!?!?  That's so neat!!  Do you play in it or conduct it on your own?  I would love to hear you guys sometime!  If you have any soundclips email them (or msn them) to me!

Re: Yipiee!

I had a children orchestra with beginners until december, but now I´ve given it up and another orchestra I´m leading together with another conductor. So I´m just the 2nd one in this case, but I´ve to conduct quite often, also at concerts. I guess I don´t have any recording when I was conducting the orchestra... but probably you wouldn´t hear the difference if it´s our first conductor or if it´s me!

Well, you know, sticks make a difference, so don't buy cheap batons

I found out I'm not going to conduct my concert band this year but I'm doing a duet with my friend, Jon, who plays Alto Sax.  We're doing Bach's Little Fugue in G Minor, do you know of it?  It's a cute little 4 minute song that's pretty much all sixteenth notes... but it's easier than it looks.
