Re: Did you finish ToB?

Yes, i finished ToB. But it happened ten years ago. Now it's time to play all towers again (certainly, with ToB Remake version)

Re: Did you finish ToB?

I never finished the original.

The only thing I liked most was to create towers and towers and.... towers.
....and not to forget: creating towers. :-)

Re: Did you finish ToB?

I have voted "no" above, though this is probably not entirely true. I *did* in my youth complete the entire first half and then almost all the towers from group 7 onwards. I'm reasonably sure I completed every group in the game but, after finishing all the towers in group 12, found myself unable to do anything except reattempt old ones.

I honestly can't remember.

I am replaying it all now on my Amiga emulator and I have successfully vanquished every tower in every group up to 10, and most of (if not all) of group 11. Ah, the advantage of age (and wisdom).

Does anyone know if anything actually happens at the end? I idly came up with some plans for a remake some time ago (but lack the programming talent for it) and thought about adding a simple animated end where the spiders activate some sort of homing beacon.

Re: Did you finish ToB?

Is there an end-sequence in the original game?

I plan to create an animated end-sequence where spiders would be collected by their star cruiser to go home.

Re: Did you finish ToB?

Hey, what's goin' on here?!? Two people admitted not to have finished the game, but only one "no"-vote was cast. WE HAVE A LIAR AMONGST US!!! ;o)
Or maybe this forum was just programmed by the same company that did the voting machines in the US.....

But to be honest, I'm not even sure if I told the truth. As far as I remember, I finished all the towers, but my memory isn't that good, and I have a slight feeling that maybe there was one tower I thought was impossible to solve...
I'll give it another try in the next few weeks, of course. I had some trouble using save-disks when playing with the emulators. Hope I don't have to leave my PC on for weeks like I did with my amiga years ago when I played Midwinter... *g*

Re: Did you finish ToB?

Well folks, I'm now only three levels away from completing every tower on my emulated ToB. Just three left on Group 12. The ninth tower in this group is rather nicely called 'The Final Barrier'. I'm saving that until last. So hopefully the 'is there an ending' question will be answered!

Oddly, I think a lot of these final towers are easier than the earlier ones!

Re: Did you finish ToB?

I'm at 70% right now, emulated, of course. The first time I finished the game I saved two towers in every group for the end, the cherries on the cake.

I can't remember anything spectacular at the end; I think there's just one of those little spider-walk-past-sequences.

But a nice end sequence is definitely a must for the remake.

Re: Did you finish ToB?

Well folks, I've just completed the final two towers this evening. Tower G ("Bridges") is rather long and an excellent use of space and lifts. One direction, that lift is a barrier. The next, it's a way up/down.

"The Final Barrier" is fairly straightforward and a nice end to the game. And yes, there IS something special - though it's not as thrilling as I'd hoped. You can find a link to the result on my ToB page - http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/mergles/tob.htm

I've made it a separate link from there as I don't want to spoil anyone's fun!

I was expecting some comment on my discovery but... nothing. Apologies for the grammar/spelling, but - wo ist du alle?
